NEED: identification of unmet health-related needs associated with Crohn's disease

KCE REPORT 377C3

The objective of this study is to test the NEED framework, in order to assess whether it is effective to evaluate (through a standardised and transparent approach) the current and future unmet health-related needs of patients and society associated with Crohn's disease. This is a crucial step that will enable the involvement of other national and international partners and the political support essential to the sustainability of the NEED project.

To achieve this goal, the NEED assessment framework was implemented in the Belgian context to answer the following research questions:
1. What are the current and future unmet health needs of patients and society related to Crohn's disease?
2. What are the current and future unmet healthcare needs of patients and society related to Crohn's disease?
3. What are the current and future unmet social needs of patients and society related to Crohn's disease?
4. Does the NEED assessment framework require certain adaptations to better assess the unmet health-related needs?
